 California Legislature have recently passed AC 2236, a bill relating to optometric surgery. This means that optometrist’s scope of practice in California has been expanded to include some scalpel and laser eye surgeries, along with medication injections. An #optometrist that’s already been certified to treat glaucoma to obtain certification to perform specified advanced procedures on meeting certain education, training, examination, and other requirements.
